This is really not a good argument. While 21 is unusually young, 43 and 34 (which is how old Adrian Rawlins and Geraldine Somerville were at the time of Sorcerer’s Stone) is unusually old for a couple to be having their first child. They were clearly thinking along the lines of casting the parents of an 11 year old rather than a baby.
And of course, this made them 53 and 44 year old parents of a baby by the time DH was out, which is just creepy.
There were hints and blatant facts about the Marauders Era folks’ age before DH came out. Also, JKR provided plenty of info for the filmmakers about other stuff, so why not that?
Also, Tim Roth was originally going to play Snape, and he was in his early 30s at the time when the first movie was made, which would have been accurate ages for the rest of the cast of that era. But I mean, then Rickman was Snape instead so if that was a factor I’m sure they may have picked the ages of Lily and James accordingly. They’re younger than Rickman is but ehhh you get what i’m saying.
(That said 34 isn’t TOO unusually old to have a kid just yet. My mom was 38 when she had me. I’d consider that more on the older side.)
not sure if you’re aware of this, but there’s this woman who they could have checked really quickly with. btw her name...
